Scale Creations' Detail Parts

Franklin's Foundry

Think back to all the great layouts you've seen throughout the years, either by visiting them or in the magazines. What really makes a great layout scene? The Details. The stuff that seamlessly blends into a scene. How many times have you looked at a layout, and thought it'w very well done, but just needs a little more?

This is the philosophy that I design my detail parts by. My desire is to create easy to assemble items that really make a scene or a building. In order for items to blend into a scene, they need to be designed to real world dimensions, and then scaled down to the correct size. My parts are designed to tolerances of 1/1000th of an inch. And I feel that plastic just can't be a realistic representation of a real world item that is made from wood. I know I could have my parts injection molded in plastic for a few cents a piece. But for me, it just wouldn't be the same.

The details are details. They make the product. The connections, the connections, the connections. It will in the end be these details that give the product its life.
